Hello Kitty Birthday Cake - 11/23/2009

Rachel's cake of choice for her 4th birthday was Hello Kitty. I made her a small cake for her actual birthday. It's a 6 inch cake with the Hello Kitty cake pan cake on top. I thought it made such a cute little cake! She absolutely loved it. :)

Birthday Cake 2009

These were just basic birthday cakes I made in 2009 for some family members to celebrate with. :)

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Cake 02/21/2009

This was Noah's Star Wars: The Clone Wars cake -- He wanted a clone on his cake. I took one of the party masks and copied it for the top layer of his cake. It turned out pretty good. He was very happy and I was happy that it turned out so good. I hadn't free handed a cake like this before without a pan, so I was very pleased.

Light Saber Cake -- 02/20/2009

For Noah's 6th birthday he chose the Star Wars: The Clone Wars theme. His birthday was on a weekday so we celebrated with a light saber cake the evening of his birthday and had another special cake planned for his weekend party with his friends. He loved his light saber cake and wanted it to be blue just like Anakins. So cute.

Rachel helped me mix up and decorate this watermelon cake for my mom's birthday. She was so excited and happy to help!

Disney Princess Cake - 11/23/2008

By the time Rachel's 3rd birthday rolled around, she was sooooo, soooo crazy about Disney Princesses. She was just in love with all things that related to any of the princesses and I saw a cake like this at Publix in the bakery. It was actually bigger, but we had no need for such a large cake since it was just our little family celebrating. I purchased the exact cake kit from Ebay and set to work to make it my own. I just made a three layer square cake with my glass pyrex pans -- note to self - buy metal square pans. Although, they turned out fine for this cake. Rachel loved this cake! I colored some coconut green for grass for the castle to sit on. After I had the layers together and the sides and corners added I cut a small piece for the top and for the picture frame to sit on. Luckily for Halloween, Rachel had been Snow White and it was perfect for the frame! After I had the top fixed the way I wanted it, I added small pink roses and piped green vines and leaves around them. Last I added each of the princess figures to the cake.

'Jack' Revisited -- 10/02/2008

Another pumpkin cake for the cake walk at Noah's Fall Festival at Eastside Elementary School. I didn't get as creative when I was pregnant... I think I just didn't have the energy!
